We visited Camille and Alexis last summer in their old farm in beautiful French Normandy. They started Embrin in 2017.
We took a walk with Alexis and his happy Australian shepherd to a nearby flax field, farmed by Alexis' uncle. Alexis explained how flax is harvested and woven. What struck us is that flax grows in about six months, but is only seeded every six years on a given piece of land (vegetables rotate on alternate years). Not only is this sustainable farming, but it is also critical to growing the most resistant flax fiber.
Later that day, Camille mentioned that a famous French luxury goods company had recently chosen Embrin linen as a present for their best international clients.
We wonder if the prestigious French company picked Embrin for the same reasons we absolutely wanted to work with Embrin: simple elegance, relentless focus on quality and sustainable production.
